This is one of the main features of the project. They can be explored through the buttons below.

THE PROCESS
I’ve developed the website’s wireframe on Adobe XD which I mainly wanted to be focused on the map, sites' descriptions and social media. Since the beginning I wanted to keep it really simple and reflect the style guide developed. The structure:
HOME - Interactive map
ABOUT - Definition of Prehistory and description of the different periods. As mentioned by two archaeology experts I talked to in different informal interviews. It is very important to define Scottish Prehistory and stick with it throughout the project.

SITES - 4 categories with all the sites listed in alphabetical order.
Moreover, the website links to social media and external community based platforms in pretty much all pages. For example as shown in the megaliths section, a live Instagram carousel that shows the most recent pictures with specific tags, hashtags or locations. This is, in practice, easy to implement with iframe HTML code

Another example is the 3D model of the stones or buildings. It is possible to embed to the website the 3D models from sketchfab.com with an iframe html code. It is possible to explore them with VR goggles too. This would definitely add to the experience. Here are some examples:

https://skfb.ly/HLtr AND https://skfb.ly/GsKQ - skara brae with descriptions - really impressive
